We celebrate life every today

Doesn’t need to be special, unique, awesome, extreme or expensive. It is all that is in its marvel.

“What day is it?”, asked Pooh
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet
“My favorite day,” said Pooh”

Teas and Infusions

Tea brings people together

We love tea. We provide tea lovers with fascinating flavours and sensuous moments of pleasure. We work tirelessly to bring a smile to the lips of tea lovers all over the world with our creations. We take the production process into our own hands: we blend our diverse range of teas in small quantities, fresh each day from our tea workshop in The Hague.

Green tea has been drunk in China for over 4.500 years. Buddhist monks introduced it to Japan and it reached Europe in the 17th century. Green and black tea are obtained from the same plant. After the leaves are plucked, those used for green tea are carefully steamed and dried. Far Eastern medicine esteems green tea as a cure for many physical and mental troubles. It is said that green tea cleanses the spirit.

Maybe it has something to do with the Emperor of China who drank it as an antidote to dead over 3.000 years ago. The product has its name from the silvery down which surrounds the tea plants’ buds. These are hand-picked and spread on large sieves. Controlled airing allows a natural process of withering. Subsequently, petals are dried carefully at low temperature.

Black tea contains tannins and minerals as well as vitamins, etheric oils and caffeine. The caffeine, other than in coffee, is released slowly into the body and the tannins have a soothing effect on the stomach.

Herbal and fruit blends

Whether it is camomile or fennel against stomach upset, currant or peppermint against a cold. Herbal teas connect a relieving effect with natural usage. They are also perfect thirst quenches allowing a great variety in taste.

Fruit tea always tastes good, e.g. as an iced refreshment sitting on the terrace on a hot and sunny afternoon, or a fragrant hot drink in front of a crackling fire in winter times. If you hear of papaya and banana in combination with pineapple, or rosehip with black thorn, hibiscus, lemon grass and cornflower, you are probably dealing with one of our numerous healthy fruit infusions. They are a healthy alternative to fruit juice, taste good and do good. They contain vitamins but no caffeine, are acid-free and easy to digest.
